The Nano-Bubbler: Taking Wastewater Treatment to the Next Level

When it comes to wastewater treatment, traditional aeration techniques do a good job at degrading all sorts of organic contaminants in wastewater. However, there’s an even better, more advanced aeration technology that takes wastewater treatment to the next level. It’s called the Nano-Bubbler.

Unlike traditional aeration technologies that inject air to the water in an ineffective way (most of the oxygen disappears when it rises to the surface), the Nano-Bubbler shoots out Nano Bubbles – which are very small gas bubbles – that do not rise, stay suspended or eventually sink to the bottom, giving it the ability to treat any water in almost every type of environment.

And because a Nano Bubble is less buoyant compared to a fine bubble, they remain in the water long enough for them to be able to slowly, but effectively, diffuse organic contaminants.

How are Nano Bubbles capable of doing such feat, you ask?

When a Nano Bubble implodes, it releases hydroxyl radical and provides remedial oxidation potential that not only cleanses the water of contaminants, but also releases more localized oxygen that aids in the improvement of the water’s quality. This is because when certain layers of the water are rich in oxygen, it discourages and prevents the onset of bacteria that produces odor, as well as further algal growth. The water column’s turbidity will also be reduced in the process, allowing sunlight to penetrate the water.

In addition to that, the Nano Bubbles also have the potential to pierce its way through various elements on the bottoms of bodies of water. Examples of said elements are sediments, silts, and soils. When the Nano Bubbles penetrate them, the bottom layer of a particular body of water will begin its journey to restoration as the numbers of organic masses get reduced, the amount of dissolved oxygen levels begin to rise, and aquaculture starts to regrow.

Due to their lower buoyancy, the Nano Bubbles get compressed by negative ion charges at the gas-liquid interface and do not form larger bubbles that rise to the surface and eventually collapse. This phenomenon gives the Nano Bubbles more time to work its magic in the water. And it turns the lower layers from an oxygen-deficient territory into an oxygen-rich environment, and accelerates the breakdown of organic matter and gradually reduces the volume of sludge.
