The Problem: In the manufacturing of cardboard boxes, ink is used to print a client’s information on the container. During the change-outs of the printing press, the ink is washed off the printing roller to ready the process for the next client’s container. This washing generates a waste ink high in solids that in order to discharge the box manufacturer has paid excessive discharge fees to the SA Water Board.
The Answer: The ClearFlow 600 has been installed to remove the suspended solids from the stream reducing the cost to discharge to the SA Water Board. The ClearFlow 600 processes up to 1200 gallons per hour of the high solids waste ink generating the clear water discharge shown here in the photo of the effluent being filtered by the CF-600’s SS Belt Filter. The sludge generated passes a TCLP for non-haz disposal. The ClearFlow 600 continually provides this quality of water. Fully Automatic.
