The Problem: This oil exploratory company generates wastewater in the process of cleaning oilfield tools used on offshore oil rigs. The tools are loaded with oil, solids, salts, and a variety of chemicals and metals. The tools are washed using a pressure washer then the water is collected and sent to the system for treatment through various ECE products and then the cleaned water is reused in the washing process. The company benefits from the process of maintaining a closed-loop process where minimal wastewater exits the facility.
The Answer: The wastewater is first treated using ECE’s DRLC OWS to remove free oils and solids. The water is sent to a Pre Tank where the ClearFlow CF 400 takes on 400-gallon batches and removes emulsified oils, solids, and metals. The effluent from the CF 400 is sent to a holding tank where ECE’s WR3 Multi-Media and UV System provides a tertiary final polish and sterilization of the water for reuse in the washing process.
